The province of Girona harbours a wealth of cultural treasures and without travelling too far there are myriad of interesting sites to visit.<\/p>\n<p><b>In the morning we will visit the medieval village of Besal\u00fa<\/b>\u00a0to discover some of its most fascinating places. On the way we will explain its history as the former capital of its own \u2018countdom\u2019, its Jewish legacy and visit some of its most interesting buildings.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The medieval bridge over the river Fluvi\u00e0 is the undoubted symbol of the town of Besal\u00fa.<\/li>\n<li>The Jewish quarter or call whose intricate streets are a throwback to the past.<\/li>\n<li>The Jewish baths or miqv\u00e9. Here we can enter one of the few such medieval Jewish purification baths that remain in Europe.<\/li>\n<li>The archaeological remains of the synagogue.<\/li>\n<li>The Monastery of St Pere. We will visit the inside of the former Benedictine monastery founded at the end of the 10th century.<\/li>\n<li>Old hospice of St Juli\u00e0 where pilgrims were once welcomed and cared for.<\/li>\n<li>Llibertat square<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Then we will head off to Figueres to visit the wonderful Dal\u00ed Museum-Theatre.<\/b>\u00a0This whole building is a work of art in itself and was conceived and designed by Dal\u00ed as a means of creating a bond between those who viewed his work and his unique artistic world.<\/p>\n<p>In its rooms there are a selection of some of his most important works, running from some of his first works, through his most daring Surrealist creations, to the works he created in the later years of his life.<\/p>\n<p>We will visit some of the most surprising rooms, including the Mae West room and the Sala del Palau del Vent, and we will stop to talk about some of his better-known works such as Galatea de les Esferes, Leda At\u00f2mica, Poesia d\u2019Am\u00e8rica, Port Alguer and Galarina.<\/p>\n<p>We will also visit the permanent exhibition of Dal\u00ed Jewels, which houses a magnificient collection of jewels designed by Dal\u00ed himself.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, a fascinating look at the life and work of this genius from the region of L\u2019Empord\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p><b>In the afternoon we will visit Cadaqu\u00e9s<\/b>\u00a0one of the most beautiful of all the towns along the Costa Brava. We suggest you take the guided tour through the town that many consider to be the true jewel of this coastline, and whose charms seduced artists such as Salvador Dal\u00ed, Picasso, Max Ernst, Luis Bu\u00f1uel and Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca.<\/p>\n<p>We will walk through the old town and its labyrinth-like maze of backstreets as far as the church of Santa Maria de Cadaqu\u00e9s for a wonderful panoramic view of the town.
