At night the medieval town has a special charm. Its Stone-paved streets light up and our visit will take you on a trip back in time through the history of what was once the capital of the important ‘countdom’ of Besalú. We begin the visit by explaining how Besalú was founded from a viewpoint situated in the medieval walls. Then, we head off into the Jewish quarter to visit the archaeological remains of the synagogue and the Jewish baths (miqvé). From the Plaça dels Jueus we will provide a detailed explanation of the town’s most famous monument, the medieval bridge. From here, we follow the river Fluvià as far as the former hospice of St.Julià ant then the Monastery of St.Pere (exterior only) and the church of St.Vicenç (exterior only).

This nocturnal visit also includes a gourmet tapa, which we will taste in one of the town’s many bars and restaurants.
